Carl Eibl Joins Enterprise Partners as Managing Director, COO

San Diego, CA, — Enterprise Partners, a venture capital firm based here, today announced that Carl Eibl has joined the firm as a managing director and chief operating officer.
Eibl had been president and chief executive officer of San Diego based Maxwell Technologies, a publicly held manufacturer of electronic components and systems, from December 1999 to April 2003. Previously, he held senior executive positions in the biotechnology industry, including that of president and chief executive officer of Mycogen Corp., a publicly held agribusiness and biotechnology company that was acquired by The Dow Chemical Company at the end of 1998.
Naser Partovi, a managing director of Enterprise Partners, said that Eibl's extensive operational and transactional experience in the biotechnology and high technology industries will enhance the firm's portfolio coordination, transaction support and investor relations capabilities.
"Carl is assuming primary responsibility for Enterprise's operations and administration, and will be a valuable additional resource to our investment team," Partovi said. "His hands-on style and leadership qualities will be instrumental in continuing and accelerating the firm's growth."
