ENTERPRISE PARTNERS EXPANDS EXECUTIVE TEAM

(LA JOLLA, Calif., September 9, 2004) - Enterprise Partners Venture Capital announced today that Erik Nierenberg has joined the firm as a portfolio associate.  Enterprise Partners, founded in 1985, is the largest venture capital firm in Southern California with over $1.1B under management.

Nierenberg will assist Enterprise’s entrepreneurs and portfolio companies on capital structuring and business support.  “Erik brings a wealth of business strategy and relevant market experience coupled with a deep understanding of the particular business needs of technology entrepreneurs, “said Carl Eibl, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Enterprise Partners.

Prior to joining Enterprise Partners, Nierenberg served as a senior consultant with Bain & Company and led growth strategy, operations and marketing initiatives across industries including technology (telecom, software, hardware, content, services), consumer products, and private equity.  Earlier in his career, Nierenberg worked in product management at Netscape (division of AOL Time Warner), and developed a business plan for Fuji Xerox Palo Alto Labs to commercialize a virtual imaging product.

Nierenberg is involved in numerous non-profit organizations.  He was a founding member of The Bridgespan Group, a consulting firm supporting large foundations and community organizations. He has also worked with the UCLA Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation, the Community Breast Health Project in Palo Alto and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.

Nierenberg graduated with an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a B.A. in economics from Pomona College.
