San Diego, CA - May 31st, 2005 - SKY MobileMedia, Inc., a leading provider of applications software platforms for the wireless industry, today announced the release of SKY-RVPTM Reference Validation Platform for multimedia handset development, prototyping, and testing using the SKY-MAPTM mobile applications software platform. The SKY-RVP is a complete form-factor GPRS handset reference design and development platform, including integrated SKY-MAP software platform and market-proven multimedia processors and hardware for imaging, video, and MP3 audio features. In combination with SKY’s PC-based SKY-SIMTM development environment and SKY-LABTM OMA-services test facility, the SKY-RVP provides a complete handset software validation platform, dramatically simplifying handset software development and final operator compliance testing, thus reducing time-to-market for high-volume feature phones and multimedia handsets. The SKY-RVP validation platform is available now to SKY-MAP customers.
The SKY-RVP provides a complete HW + SW solution, providing time-to-market benefits for SKY, handset manufacturers, wireless operators, and third-party software developers. For SKY, the reference hardware platform enables real-world handset integration and testing of new SKY-MAP features, ensuring that SKY-MAP is pre-validated and highly optimized on leading cellular chipsets and multimedia processors. For SKY’s OEM and ODM customers, the SKY-RVP allows rapid application and user interface development and testing, reducing time-to-market for wireless handsets.
