Breach Acquires ModSecurity Open Source Vendor Thinking Stone

BreachBreach Security acquired Thinking Stone Ltd., a provider of services and enhancements for the ModSecurity web application firewall. The combined entity brings together the most widely deployed web application firewall and the best threat detection technology available in the market. Breach Security will continue to contribute to the open source community with new releases of ModSecurity as well as incorporate ModSecurity technology into its suite of web application security solutions.

SKY MobileMedia Acquires e-SIM

Sky MobileMediaSKY MobileMedia, a provider of application software platforms for the wireless industry acquired e-SIM Ltd. a maker of Man Machine Interface solutions for mobile handsets. The combined company will market complete and customizable applications software solutions for the mobile industry, from ultra-low cost handsets to mass-market feature phones to Wi-Fi-enabled multimedia devices.

Expresso Fitness Receives Second Round of Venture Funding from Enterprise

Expresso Fitness Receives Second Round of Venture Funding from Enterprise Expresso Fitness, a supplier of interactive software for Internet-enabled cardio fitness systems, raised an additional $4 million through Enterprise Partners Venture Capital. This financing follows a $4.5 million investment by Enterprise Partners announced in July 2005.

Expresso Fitness, which provides networked and interactive software and cardio equipment for the multi-billion dollar fitness industry, has continued to expand its reach into health and fitness facilities in key domestic markets.

Enterprise Expands Professional Staff with Addition of Andrews and Murphy

This quarter, Enterprise Partners welcomed two new professionals to the financial team, Andrew Summers and Teak Murphy.

Andrew Summers joined the firm as an associate after previously serving as a summer associate with the firm. He will work with existing portfolio companies on business operations and analysis and conduct due diligence on potential investments. Prior to joining Enterprise Partners, Andrew spent over six years in investment banking and related consulting roles where he provided strategic and financial advisory services to emerging growth and middle market companies. Additionally, Andrew served as a volunteer consultant to a non-profit community development venture capital fund and is a former board member of Cancer Lifeline, a non-profit organization dedicated to optimizing the quality of life for all people living with cancer.

Teak Murphy joined Enterprise Partners as an associate and will conduct due diligence on potential investments, supervise market and business analysis and work with existing portfolio companies on business operations. Before joining Enterprise, Teak was an associate at Montgomery & Co., where he provided financial advisory services, including buy and sell-side representation, fairness opinions and initial public offerings in the technology sector. Prior to Montgomery & Co., he worked with Cowen & Co., providing M&A advisory services to companies in the technology sector.

Teak received a B.S. in Business Administration with honors in Finance from the University of Southern California. Teak currently holds Series 7 & 63 licenses.
